Amazon Music Releases Three New Amazon Music Originals By Dasha, Flatland Cavalry, & Sierra Ferrell ft. Nikki Lane
Amazon Music released three reimagined country classics from Dasha, Flatland Cavalry, and Sierra Ferrell ft. Nikki Lane. The artists each performed their new Amazon Music Original tracks live for the first time at Stagecoach.
Dasha’s take on “Here for the Party” captures the bold, celebratory spirit of Gretchen Wilson’s original version, while adding her unique and playful flair. Of Dasha’s version, she shared, “‘Here for the Party’ is unapologetic and fun. When I perform this track, it feels like I’m giving people permission to let loose and be themselves. It’s the kind of song that owns the room, and that’s the vibe l love bringing to my shows.”
Flatland Cavalry’s rendition of “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” honors George Strait’s classic while adding their own smooth, modern flair. Of their version, frontman of Flatland Cavalry, Cleto Cordero shares, “We’ve been playing a snippet of ‘All My Ex’s…’ during our live show as an intro to one of our tunes, ‘Old School,’ which references George Strait and his music being an influence in my life while growing up in Texas. When Amazon approached us about the opportunity we figured it’d be fun to re-record it in its entirety in the key we play it in live, adding our own unique spin. Now that myself and a few others in the band hang our hats in Nashville these days it wasn’t all too hard to get into the spirit — Hopefully George can hear it!”
Sierra Ferrell and Nikki Lane breathe new life into Dottie West’s track “A Lesson In Leavin’,” which was popularized by Jo Dee Messina. This new cover delivers a soulful, harmonized version of the beloved song. Of the duet, Sierra Ferrell said, “I picked to cover ‘A Lesson In Leavin’’ because frankly it’s a good message and it’s real fun to sing with one of your best friends. Nikki Lane is a close buddy so it was a no-brainer to ask her to join me on this empowering lil tune.”
