This write started with a lyric — ‘woke up tired’.
Releasing new music during a quarantine. What are you doing differently to promote the new single?
We’re doing a lot more live streams and joining our friends on Instagram Live along with different radio stations to promote our single. We’ll actually be playing ‘Woke Up Tired’ on release day on Go Country 105's Instagram Live at 10am PST!
Honey County on TikTok
Honey County(@honeycounty) has created a short video on TikTok with music original sound. Our new single comes out…
Have you made a “Woke Up Tired” playlist that fans can listen to?
Sofie is working on that right now!
Saw your post about building community, even while physically distant, with Habitat for Humanity. How can we build our own communities?
It’s so difficult to stay together while being apart. We loved partnering with Habitat for Humanity to remind people that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that we can continue to build together as a community whether that is waving to a neighbor while walking on the street (while remaining 6 feet apart of course!) or hoping on a FaceTime or zoom call with a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while.
The daily news continues to be filled with loss and uncertainty for our ‘new’ normal. Have there been any stories that have stood out to you — front line workers, neighbors helping neighbors?
Oregon Woman Helps Elderly Couple 'Scared to Go Into' Grocery Store Amid Coronavirus Pandemic
"I know it's a time of hysteria and nerves, but offer to help anyone you can," Rebecca Mehra wrote on Twitter An Oregon…
We remember reading one story about an elderly couple waiting in their car at a grocery store and looking for the ‘right person’ to ask to give cash to and go in and buy them groceries because they were too afraid to go into the store. I hope that we can all be that ‘right person’ for everyone right now!
What positives have you each experienced during these past few months?
We’ve all really enjoyed getting to work together on the things we love and problem solving sound and technical mountains.

Playing Stagecoach online for example (Stagecouch) we wanted to make sure the sound quality was excellent so we YouTubed how to hook up an interface and microphone to your iPhone. After a couple tries and several cables later, we finally managed to get it working and the show went really well!
Post quarantine — what is the first thing you each personally want to do?
Dani — I want to visit my family & go out with my friends!
Tracy — See my mom & take a trip somewhere!
Sofie — Play live shows!
What other ways have you stayed connected with other artists?
Those were SO fun! We’ve gotten on Instagram Live a bunch and brought people on to go live with us — it’s been really fun to do that and an awesome way to connect with fans.
It hasn’t been that hard at all, as long as you’re invested in the topic and the song, it should go smoothly!
You’ve also had songs on various television shows, like “Blood From A Stone” on “Roswell New Mexico”. Do you watch the show and then write the song?
It depends! Things like ‘Yellowstone’ or ‘Nashville’ we were already watching. For ‘Roswell New Mexico’ we had to do some binge watching to catch up hehe. Sofie’s mom watches regularly though so she was able to fill us in!
Favorite Honey County Kitchen original recipe?
That’s easy — MUG CAKE.
Favorite drink to pair with it?
Either champagne or a mule.
With all of us having lots of down time, are there any binge worthy shows, games, or books you’d recommend?
Read a quote on Women Crush It Wednesday’s site, “The best view comes after the hardest climb”. How do you see the music industry evolving once the quarantine is completely lifted?
I think live shows will become a large part of the music industry. As we learn in this ‘new normal’ we’re finding ways to be present with people even though we can’t physically play for them.
What message would you like to share with fans as we all face an uncertain post pandemic new normal?
The sun will always rise, remember to hold your heads and your drinks high!
