“Life works in mysterious ways, but if you trust your instincts, it will guide you where you need to be.” — Stefanie Michaela’s “Found in You”
Born and raised in Los Angeles. Found a love for music at just two years old. Watched award shows, and your weekly performances became a family tradition. Earned the nickname ‘the littlest girl with the biggest voice’ in your hometown. “Music has always been my way to tell my story — the highs, the lows, and every lesson learned along the way. This journey isn’t just about finding my voice; it’s about inspiring others to find theirs too. Let’s turn every page with courage and keep pushing forward together.” Can you share a fan story of how your music has inspired them?
While shopping in my hometown, someone thanked me for inspiring them to reignite their love for theater. They thought it was too late to pursue their passion as a mom. I told them if I can inspire just one person to believe it’s never too late to follow their dream, then I’ve done my job. I know I’m meant to share my gift with the world, and inspiring others is the greatest reward.
“Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Boyz II Men, and more inspire my music on a daily basis.” Studio sessions became your sanctuary by the age of 12, crafting melodies and pouring emotions into your music. Pursued your dreams at the Idyllwild Arts Academy Performing Arts Boarding School and later at the Boston Conservatory for Musical Theater. How can parents best support music in their children’s schools?
Exposing children to the arts is crucial for creating well-rounded individuals and helping them discover hidden talents. It’s not just about schoolwork and tests; it’s about self-expression. Not everyone excels in academics, and I learned early on that music was my outlet to build confidence. I highly recommend encouraging your child to explore the performing arts, as it offers a unique way to express themselves beyond academics. Attending performing arts schools gave me a sense of freedom and belonging.
Setbacks. “My music tells a story of my journey — one marked by resilience, perseverance, and unwavering determination.” What songs would you include on a playlist of encouraging songs for those going through difficult times?
“Stay In Your Lane” is a reminder to focus on what’s best for you and block out the noise around you. Your happiness and what you’ve built for yourself are what truly matter. Let others judge — it’s their issue, not yours. Surround yourself with people who lift you up. “Found in You” encourages creating a safe, comforting environment where you can be creative and focus on what truly matters.
“Remember, each new day is a fresh start, a new chance to keep moving toward your dreams. Embrace the journey, trust the process, and keep faith in your path. The best things come to those who believe and keep going!” Newfound sense of purpose with your family’s support to once again write and record music. What’s on your 2025 career vision board?
2025 is my year. Since the ball dropped, I’ve known it’s my time to create incredible music, inspire others, and hear stories of how embracing their passion has changed their lives. I’ll be performing at many venues, and I hope to connect with everyone in a way that makes them want to play my music on repeat, just as I did with songs that touched my heart. As a soulful pop singer and true empath, connecting with others is my greatest passion.
“Just a girl with big dreams, Diet Coke, and Dot’s pretzels. The perfect combo for inspiration!” Where are some of your most inspiring places to write?
I love writing songs in my backyard with the birds chirping and the sun shining. The creative flow is endless when I’m outside, lounging with my dogs. There’s something about the comfort of an animal, offering love without judgment, that sparks my creativity. When it’s not sunny, I retreat to my music office, where I dive into the more serious side of songwriting, crafting tight, authentic lyrics with deep emotion.
“Found in You,” co-written with Grammy-winning producer Keith Thomas. Inspired by the love you share with your husband and the unwavering support of your five children, the song is a testament to perseverance and passion. “Writing a song with Keith Thomas is an experience rooted in craftsmanship. It’s a true privilege to collaborate with someone who has such a deep understanding of the art. Still can’t believe I got the opportunity to write with Keith on this track!” What is your favorite lyric from the song and why?
“The questioning it settles in does your hand always fit right”? I love that lyric because it reflects how, when you meet someone, you’re not always sure if they’re the right fit. But as time passes, you look back and realize that choosing this path was exactly what you needed. Life works in mysterious ways, but if you trust your instincts, it will guide you where you need to be. That’s what the lyric means to me, and it’s special because it can resonate in many different ways for others.
“Dressing up is one of the best parts of my job — right alongside the music! What girl doesn’t want to feel like the queen she is? Here’s to all the women out there: never forget your crown!” How do you make sure to balance your career and your personal life?
I use the time while my kids are in school or at activities to focus on work. When we’re all together as a family, I make sure to be fully present — phones away, making eye contact, and connecting with everyone. I’m 100% focused on my craft when working and equally dedicated to my family. When I balance both, it’s magic. If I ever feel overwhelmed or disconnected, I step back and reassess. Without the consistency and connection with my children, creating authentic music becomes impossible because I won’t feel whole.
