If you were to write an intro for “That Don’t Make Him Country” before it played on the radio, what would you want listeners to know about the song?

“That Don’t Make Him Country” is an upbeat song you are going to want to dance to? One night after going line dancing and seeing someone I know pretend to be someone they are not the song idea came to me. If you have ever known someone who has pretended to be someone they are not to gain a friendship or to be in a relationship you will connect to this song!

6 Things You Don’t Know About Me:

Born in Columbus, OH. Moved to Florida at age 11. Mom has been your biggest influencer, as she sets goals and works until she achieves them. How does she help you find balance between your life as a teen and your professional life?

Balancing my professional and personal life has been challenging at times. We try to make sure there is time in my life to hang out with friends and to live a normal teen life. I love going line dancing and swing dancing, so I make sure there is time in my week to enjoy those things.

Began modeling. Created your own eyeshadow palette. Bucket list to appear in Vogue. What makes a model successful?

I began modeling when I was 14 and had the opportunity to create my own eyeshadow palette with GirlsRock Cosmetics called the Maddy Lee Ann Homecoming Palette. Since then, I have changed my focus from modeling to acting and singing. The most important thing you can remember to be successful is to be true to who you are. I also found it’s important to step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself. That is how you grow.

Debut single, “Numb.” “Today’s teens face pressures and stressors from so many angles never seen before, including the pandemic, the news, social media, intense political division, and school shootings and violence, and it can become overwhelming. I’ve let these factors, as well as the added pressures of the entertainment industry, affect my mental health, and my music is one way I’ve used to try to heal and remind myself that I’m valuable and worthy of love from myself and others. I hope to use my voice for good and to help other teens overcome mental health challenges and discover their worth, too.” What are some resources teens (and their parents/teachers) can use to help them through difficult times?

I have partnered with the app called WeBelife by Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen which helps people monitor their mental health. The app is free and there are lots of resources included.

Acting, Always a Winner, releasing April 25th, is the third and final movie in the series (Remember The Goal and The Perfect Race). The synopsis is ‘Emily Hilton transfers to a new Christian high school for her senior year determined to repeat as state golf champion. As she begins that quest, she is greatly affected by her new golf Coach and teammates and comes to learn what is really most important in life.’ What attracted you to the role of Bree?

Bree isn’t a lead role but has a large impactful story line. You will have to wait until the April 25th to learn more about Bree.

Reading. Learning. Photography. Traveling. Where is your favorite place to travel to?

Favorite place is anywhere where there is a beach! A couple times a month I try to visit the beach with my Goldendoodle, Kloey.

HGTV, house designs. Which shows are your favorite to watch and why?

I love watching home shows. Chip and Joanna have been a long time favorite.

Can you share 12 songs that have influenced your life and career?

“Love Story” — Taylor Swift

“Mama’s Broken Heart” — Miranda Lambert

“Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home” — Elle King, Miranda Lambert

“That Don’t Impress Me Much” — Shania Twain

“Good Directions” — Billy Currington
