Music Video Premiere: “Up In Lights” Melanie Meriney

Nashville pop country artist Melanie Meriney explores the pitfalls of the climb to fame, in a sometimes-flawed entertainment industry, in her music video for “Up In Lights.” The lyrics have cutting relevance, backed by a singable melody and modern pop flair.

Meriney shared the backstory of the song, “‘Up In Lights’ came to me while I was driving by myself on a ten hour road trip. I was just thinking about how a lot of the entertainment industry involves putting on a mask and fitting into a particular mold. It can be easy to get caught up in the game and forget who you are in pursuit of this dream. You don’t want to lose yourself in the process.”
